Last night I attended a lecture that Ameena Mirza Qazi gave. Ameena Mirza Qazi is the Deputy Executive Director and Staff Attorney for the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Greater Los Angeles Area Chapter (CAIR-LA), AND she's a hijabi fashionista! I love her scarves! I looked through google and saw amazing pictures of her and her scarves. I'm still not sure if I want to be an artist, or a lawyer, or a pilot, or a teacher- but whatever, I'll wear the prettiest of scarves!

Yes, I know, the quality of the picture is horrendous! I really need a new camera. She talked of our role as Muslims and I think it's awesome that she said there is no 'us' and 'them.' My mommy says that all the time. Even Tariq Ramadan said that. Here is a snippet of the lecture. I apologize for the quality of the video!

whats with the separation??! and no more wedding decor? and why do all the speakers that come say the same thing? thick skulls?
Seriously I agree with A. She is not that great a speaker. Moreover she is constantly reading out from a paper.

But ANYWAY- I'm sure she had her reasons for her speech. maybe she heard we care more about partitions than doing our civic duty.
