Iftar At My Place

Iftar was cheese snails and veggie/seafood wraps. And that's a dip for the wraps. I want Ramadan to come again- don't you?

Eritrean Iftar!

This is an Iftar I had at my friend's place. Her family is from Eritrea and the food her mommy made was what they eat in Eritrea- it was super yummy! That's yogurt and rice and salad and veggie casserole and some super spicy stew that we ate with bread. So good!!

Ramadan memories of 2012.

We went for Iftar to the Bosnian mosque! It was super fun :D Here are some pictures!!

It was intense for a few minutes as people all lined up.

But everyone had a good time socializing in line, and cutting in line.

Iftars here and there

A few nights ago I went to the Bosnian Mosque for their community iftar. I would post more pictures up except all the pictures I took came out sucky. My camera is the worst. :( But here is what I have. The mosque is splendid (new word I like) and the food was amazing!!! 

It was SO crowded that my mommy had to pray in the men's section. 

That's the roof! SoooooooOooo pretty!! 

It was too crowded inside so we sat outside and enjoyed the night air. 

Coming home we got lost for like an HOUR! But then we called a super hero and she gave us directions and our lives were saved! But it was so stressful that when we got home we just ate two kinds of ice cream to calm our nerves. 

This is me a little unsettled still.  

And here I am a little more calm and collected. 

This is the drink they had there. It was a bit too sweet. Did I mention how delish the food was?!

Kaya Korean Barbecue

A few days ago we had iftar at Kaya Korean Barbecue in Edmonds. It was fabulous! We loved the food! 

We loved the company!

We loved the green tea ice cream!

We totally will be going back soon! I love how we're staring at the food as if it's about to disappear.. haha!

Ramadan!

I very vaguely remember what Ramadan in Saudi Arabia was like. My mommy said it was exciting. That at night all the street vendors would come out and that the restaurants would be full and people would just get along much better then. Oh and that right before iftar it's suicidal to be outside. I mean seriously. We saw so many car accidents!! THAT I do remember. This is what Ramadan in Syria looks like:

Okay so the last picture with the hairy arms is of jalabee. My brothers love that! My mommy makes it often and we have tea with it. It helps that her arms are not hairy. I hate hairy arms.
